President/Pageant Director
Ms. Karanja and Mrs. Tangyie have been good friends for a long time, both met during their pageant years in 2005. Both very driven and dynamic ladies. Eunice Karanja (Tshyro) was born in Nakuru, Kenya to Bishop Ibrahim Karanja, who was a managing director for a retail chain store in Kenya, and Pastor Beatrice Karanja, a home maker and retail business owner. She hails from a God fearing family and strong ethical background seen in her aura, humility and grace. At the age of 16, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she started college. In college, Eunice was a well-rounded astute student who indulged in many activities including theater, photography, modelling, and pageants in addition to her Nursing career.
After undergraduate at San Jacinto College, Eunice attended University of Texas – Brownsville with a full scholarship to complete her BSN program. It was at this time that she developed a bigger interest in pageantry and participated in Miss Kenya USA, winning the title in 2006 – 2007, shortly after she was 2nd 1strunner up in Miss Africa USA 2007 – 2008. She continued to pursue both acting and commercial print as extracurricular activities and attended Page Parkes Center of Modeling and Acting Houston, Texas. She has also been involved in short films and attended Drama and theater school at Next Actor Studio in Houston, Texas. In 2010, she graduated Sigma Cum Laude with a BSN.
Although she has a great passion for performing arts, her other calling in Nursing has propelled her growth in the health care industry, now a Nurse Practitioner at a prestigious institution in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, she divides her time and continues to pursue her passion for both arts and science. She is a dedicated daughter, sister, friend and most recently an aunt and an ambassador for African pride, no girl child left behind movement and women empowerment.
